How to patch the binaries without full upgrade (2.x versions only)

Note: this instruction only applies to TigerGraph 2.x versions.

This page shows you how to patch tigergraph binaries without a full upgrade.  The below example uses tigergraph 2.5.3 and gse binary(ids_worker) as an example. For other versions and binaries, just need to change the corresponding names. 

As a first step, download the tigergraph offline package that you want to patch from (2.5.3 in below example).

tar -xf tigergraph-2.5.3-offline
cd tigergraph-2.5.3-offline/
bash tigergraph.bin --noexec --target tigergraph-2.5.3
cp tigergraph-2.5.3/gdk/gsdk/bin/release/ids_worker <TargetLocation>

Generic

Now you have the ids_worker in your <TargetLocation>. You need to copy the binary to tigergraph cluster if you are currently not there. Below instructions show how to replace the old binary with new binary below.

gadmin stop -y
cp <TigerGraphRoot>/bin/ids_worker <TigerGraphRoot>/bin/ids_worker_bak
gscp all <TargetLocation>/ids_worker <TigerGraphRoot>/bin/
gadmin start

Now you can verify the gse is updated by looking at the .out log file of gse. It should show a different commit/version number than others.
